NEWS UPDATE!  New York, NY – September 12, 2015

The 14th Annual New York City Horror Film Festival celebrates the career of FRIDAY THE 13TH progenitor Sean S. Cunningham this November 2015 with the festival’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Responsible for one of the major characters of slasher cinema in the form of Jason Voorhees, Mr. Cunningham also joined with the late Wes Craven in producing their dark underground classic THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT. Mr. Cunningham will receive his coveted prize on Friday, November 13th, 2015.

Also producing other installments in the FRIDAY THE 13TH series including JASON GOES TO HELL: THE FINAL FRIDAY, JASON X, and FREDDY VS. JASON, Mr. Cunningham is also responsible for the HOUSE series, producing the original feature, its sequel HOUSE II: THE SECOND STORY, and HOUSE IV. Sean Cunningham is now in production on FRIDAY THE 13TH: CRYSTAL LAKE CHRONICLES in the role of executive producer, slated for a 2016 debut.

The festival runs November 12-15, 2015, at Times Scare, 6698th Ave, right on Times Square’s world famous 42nd Street, aka “The Deuce.” Times Scare is enhanced with custom-built designs and elegant macabre décor including a state-of-the-art haunted house and skeletal bar. The venue’s history traces back to the crematorium that operated there in the roaring 1920s and the dark echoes of old Times Square’s bawdy past. The festival selection committee is currently reviewing this year’s submissions and will announce in October 2015, along with the "Opening Night" film and the second award recipient. The schedule and ticket link go live in October 2015 at nychorrorfest.com

   Important Message from our Director:

"When Tribeca Cinemas closed there were tons of tears. We lost our home of so many years A new search began only 4 months until our festival but nothing came close. We were spoiled by the best. Uptown, Downtown, Eastside and West... there has to be a place for our fabulous Horror Film Festival. Then smack in the middle of New York City, there it stood so dark and gritty! A change in venue also meant of course a change in decor. Now wait until you’ll see what we have in store for you! We welcome you to our new found lair. The horror begins at the creepy TIMES SCARE!"
