About Eigh8t The Chosen One

Eigh8t The Chosen One was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on September 9, 1980. He lived there for two years before moving to Illinois. As a young child, he was always very artistic in writing and drawing. Around the age of 9 he was introduced to hip hop by his older cousin and from then on he always knew he wanted to create some type of music.

One of the first rap songs Eigh8t ever heard was One hundred miles and Runnin’ by NWA. The beat mesmerized him so much that he would play the song on his walkman over and over until the cassette tape wore out. It was then that he knew what he wanted to be when he grew up. He wanted to be a rapper.

Eigh8t grew up in a rough part of town and had to walk to and from school everyday through gang territory. Needless to say, he learned very quickly which colors not to wear. He was an only child from a single parent home and there wasnt anyone around to show him the ropes of the street. His family moved around a lot due to the violence of the inner city and economic strain. This is where he got the inspiration to start writing songs. Being able to express his frustration about his life and current situation would lay the groundwork for what would later become the inevitable.

At age 13, Eights family moved back to Sanford, Florida. In middle school, he was labeled EH (emotionally handicapped) and as having a BD (behavior disorder). Coming from a troubled childhood like many other youths from the inner city, the move from Illinois to Florida was nothing short of a culture shock. Feeling out of place he turned to the only place where he truly felt he belonged.

In 2000 at the age 19, Eigh8t became serious about his music. He worked 2 and sometimes 3 jobs to get enough money to record at a studio in a nearby city. He would work a 9 or 10 hour day on the railroad and carry a mini sized composition notebook wherever he went to write down random thoughts that he didnt want to forget. Later when he got home from work, he would put all his thoughts together and that would be the basis for a song. At one time, he was so determined to get enough money for studio time that he enrolled in a medical study program. This facility would run random medical studies on him for weeks at a time. He would endure a series of daily injections (14) and was not allowed to leave the grounds. He used this time to write and perfect his craft. At the end of the study he would go back to his normal job on the railroad. This would be his life for the next 4 years.

Within the next few years, Eigh8ts dreams began to come true… or so he thought. He went on to work with many producers and tried out for local talent shows. A short time after, he began working with 2 producers that helped him on 2 underground albums that were never released. Due to creative differences the team separated and Eigh8t would meet Chris Onsik Milazzo, C.E.O. of RealSkillz Records, through a mutual friend. The two hit it off immediately, and started recording mix tapes. One of the things he was most known for at the time was his vicious style of battle rapping, leaving the street and the internet with a combined record of 96 and 1. A few notable underground rappers he accumulated victories over consist of DZK, BEKAY, and WHITEOUT.

After 4 years, and a multitude of life changing events, Eigh8t and Onsik would eventually separate but still remain friends. Working a manual labor job consisting of 10-14 hour days, Eigh8thechosenone soon realized that his talent would go to waste if he didnt put it to use. Now would be the MOMENT OF TRUTH. Eigh8t invested 3 years of his earnings into creating an album that would not only change the way hip hop/rap was made but also the way its looked at. Here we are at present day with the album entitled The artist the radio wont play and the Industry wont let you hear. This album was made with the intention to change the face of music and wake the fans up. The most mind blowing aspect of this album is that Eigh8t handed it out completely free of charge. He believes in his music so much that he was fine with the fact that he didnt make one penny off the album as long as he was able to touch one person.

Eigh8t believes that if he is able to touch just one person with his music, that one person will tell a few. In turn, a few will tell many and his message will spread like a virus.

As a long time listener, and avid fan of all types of music, I am here to tell you that he was absolutely correct in saying that this album has changed the way I view hip hop/rap. I chose to write this biography for free after having the album sent to me and listening to it from track 1 to track 16. Hence, I am one of the few now, spreading to many.

And to straight download his debut Album, The Artist the Radio won’t Play and the Industry won’t let you Hear hit up: http://www.mediafire.com/?n3tzd2mhqot and educate yourself, bitch.

William Pattison aka "Eric Morse" the author of the sensational Camp Crystal Lake novels now presents the epic story of time, space and the human adventure...

    THE TRAVELER:
A CONFLICT OF INTEREST
and
PSYCHOTIC STATE: THE NOVEL
A harsh and emotional profile of a torture man that
only the "king Of Splatter Punk" can bring us!

   NEWS UPDATE!September 21, 2014
Author William Pattison (aka Eric Morse) has released two new novels in two genres. First, we have Psychotic State: The Novel (Co-written by Derek Young). This novel is inspired by the independent film of the same name but is way more than a common novelization. This is a reimagining that only the crowned "King of Splatter Punk" (William Pattison, aka Eric Morse) can bring us. Psychotic State takes us places the film only wishes it could. It is a harsh and emotional profile of the tortured main character, David Coleman. Also, this novel is timely in that it has a strong anti-bullying message, something that is a major cultural issue these days.

Secondly, we have William Pattison’s epic time travel thriller, The Traveler: A Conflict of Interest. If you love sci fi like The Terminator, Star Trek, Blake’s 7, or Doctor Who you will definitely love this book. It is a story of a situation that pits friend against friend with the fate of Earth's future at stake. This is old fashioned sci fi that is about human emotions and the human condition as well as science and fantasy.

Synopsis:For millions of years the members of the S.T.R, Space/ Time Research, Council, of the planet Vevetta II, have chronicled the histories of the planets of the known Universe, their two main rules never to alter the flow of history and never to travel into the future. But all this changed. A researcher named Warliam Nathback broke the rule about going into the future and found out that the ruling organization of the planet Earth, The Monopolis, was destined to conquer Vevetta II. Upon returning to Vevetta II Warliam warned his people, but the only action they took was to debate the issue.
Finally, in frustration, Warliam forcibly took the Council hostage. The situation ended badly when Warliam's oldest friend, Flink Plexaha interceded and tried to stop him. It ended with Warliam shooting and injuring Flink Plexaha and killing Flink's assistant, and lover, Tya Yivata. After, Warliam was sent to prison and Flink went into the wilderness to deal with his loss.
But that is where this story begins.... Now, Warliam has escaped prison and is on his way to Earth to change history and save Vevetta II from the threat of The Monopolis. And, now the S.T.R. Council has sent for the one person they believe can stop Warliam, Flink Plexaha... also known as The Traveler.
The Traveler: A Conflict of Interest is the first novel by author William Pattison, aka "Eric Morse," in his The Traveler Chronicles Series. It is a stirring sci fi story in the tradition of Star Trek, Doctor Who, and The Terminator.

SNAKE WITH A HUMAN TAIL
Those Aren't Tears Rolling Down Her Cheeks... It's BAD BLOOD!

Diabolique News: Reviewer El Tisdale from iamgeeker.wordpress.com says . . . "There is a lot to talk about when it comes to "Snake With A Human Tale." For one the poster art is amazing. So often fans are let down by DVD cover and poster art. As of late, it seems as though our plight has been heard. This is no exception. Be sure I will be looking in to getting a copy for my collection, hopefully signed. Be prepared, "Snake With A Human Tale" is one of those films that is upsetting on a natural, human, this could really happen, level. To sum it up, the film is Psycho meets Pink Flamingos, directed by a young Quentin Tarantino. It’s a thrill ride. For most of us sane and rational people out there, corrupt religious authorities are angering and terrifying, Snake With A Human Tale feels the same way. Meet Father Fulci (Marv Blauvelt).
As a survivor of sexual assault, he did not break the cycle of abuse, instead he mastered his seductions while working at Church. Presently dating a transgendered woman he finds himself becoming obsessed with his new girlfriend, Karma (Sheri Davis) and her talent for not feeling physical pain. The viewer learns quickly what type of horror this film is. There is no candy coating for the faint of heart in Snake With A Human Tale, it is not written or directed to protect its audience from the crudeness of its reality. Karma was my favourite character. She is a woman with baggage. By carrying the baggage with her through life, she became stronger and more determined to seek out resolution for her past. During her earlier years as a young boy, she was abused by a Father in the Church she attended. The abuse changed her destiny. The desire for revenge continued until present day, when she was finally able to release her glorious blood-thirsty retribution. The conclusion (no spoilers here) is why I feel "Snake With A Human Tale" will redefine revenge-horror. READ FULL REVIEW HERE: http://iamgeeker.wordpress.com/2014/10/03/snake-with-a-human-tale/

"Goddamned disturbing ... literally!" - Jason Hignite, writer & film festival director from HorrorHound

"Bloody brilliant ! Marv Blauvelt knocks it out of the park with this role!! He is SCARY and a very unrecognizable MONSTER that will make you QUESTION the church lifestyle!" - Joe Quintanilla (Actor, Tales Of Poe)

"It's like it came from the fevered mind of the love child of Quentin Tarantino and Chan-wook Park on Redbull" - Chris Young  CYoungMedia.com

"Gray isn't afraid to get right in your face with a film that makes you squirm" - Fred Thiel blogandguts.blogspot.com

"I definitely felt right at place working with Marv Blauvelt and Sheri Davis. Very very professional and passionate plus talented, and that's the important part of them all. Most humbled crew I've worked on. You can see me in theaters now in "Sin City: A Dame To Kill For" and watch for other films I'm in like "Bad Kids Go 2 Hell,""Intramural,""The Veil" and my first leading role where I co-produce as well in 'Blood Sombrero.'" - Actor Billy Blair

"I wanted this film to be the real deal. To inhale America's sins and spit them out,  like Henry Miller's "The Air-Conditioned Nightmare." I wanted the raw, real side show for anybody interested in breaking through the POLLYANNAISH facade that is America. I feel so fortunate  to have found so much talent that wanted to do the same and pulled it off beautifully. I believe Marv Blauvelt,  Sheri Davis, Billy Blair,  Jeremy Mitchell, and Anthony Gutierrez are just the beginning of what I feel will be a trend of BOLD new savage art. If you don't like something in our film, write a nasty email and send it to yourself. It all came from you and the society each one of you helped create."- Director Spencer Gray

Snake with a Human Tail is creepy and disturbing. It will make your skin crawl." - Char/Charred Remains

"The most screwed up, yet highly entertaining  and best short film we have ever seen."- Mr. Cheeseball & Adalynne

"I loved my role on SWAHT! Spencer gave me the chance to play something I normally don't get to play other than a bad guy. It was a great challenge."- Actor Billy Blair

"All kidding aside,  Spencer Gray is not only a very talented director also one of today's most prolific screenwriters! What his brilliant mind created in 'Snake With A Human Tail' is superlative!" - Greg Petaloudis  HorrorUnlimited.Com

 SHERI DAVIS
Diabolique News: ATTENTION: All Casting Agencies, Managers, Indie Filmmakers & Talent Scouts... Cast This Texan Beauty In Your Next Film And Watch Your Box Office Sales Skyrocket! Sheri Davis is definitely is NOT just another pretty face, but a very talented and dynamic actress who is brilliant in playing a variety of demanding roles! Watch her in action as "Karma Blake" featured in Director Spencer Gray's Horrific Masterpiece SNAKE WITH A HUMAN TAIL (2014). More detail On Actress Sheri Davis here

SNAKE WITH A HUMAN TAIL (2014)

Actress Sheri Davis' current projects:
“Forces of Horror Anthology” Series Volume 1 is written and directed by Roger Sampson.  I am also a producer and casting director as well as the lead female for these films.  The producers are Roger, Aaron, and myself. Aaron Sparks is our incredible Cinematographer as well. I also brought Jeremy Mitchell on as our production manager, Michael Head as sound/gaffer/grip, and Sheril Rodgers for wardrobe - all of whom were also involved in “Snake With A Human Tail” with me. This anthology is comprised of 5 short films based on various horror genres: Serial killer/Demon, Zombie, Vampire, Monster, and Ghost Story. The concept is that we have 3 lead actors who play various roles in each film. These stories/films are completely unrelated. So, in each film the lead actors play various roles. Again, this is done in similar fashion to “American Horror Story.” My co-stars our Gracie Whitton (“Scary Movie 5” and “The Town That Dreaded Sundown”) and Lance Eakright (“Human Wreckage” and “Mortal Dilemma”).

We just wrapped the first film “Revelations” and the trailer will be released tonight.  The next film will be taking place in November is our Zombie story which is called “The Jones.” The following 3 films are “Rawhead” which is our monster story, “Origin of Species” which is our vampire story, and “Ethereal” which is our ghost story.

I also have the “Pink Sneakers Club” which is scheduled to film next year sometime. I portray Monica  James who is a previous divorcee and a recent wealthy widow from a brief marriage. She is the mother of a teenage daughter, Deirdre. Monica is living the single life to her fullest and she unknowingly gets involved with a mob boss when she is looking for love in all the wrong places. He comes after her daughter and her daughter’s friends after they discover who he is and what he has done. This film is based on 2 books written by Christian Bertoni, who will also be playing Dan Guseberri and directing this film.  I recommended Melina Lyon (Kaye West) and Glenn Turney (Henry Brocktin) for this film and they have both been cast as well. This film is similar to “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” and “Nancy Drew,” and it is a family film, which I believe will have more of a tween/teen fan base.

“Till Death” is a feature film that we hope to premiere next month as well.  I play one of the leads, Emma, a spicy Southern girl who dreams of being a singer, but she ends up in an abusive relationship and when she gets the courage to leave she finds refuge and a new life at a Honey Farm where she meets Lily, and soon Sylvia stumbles upon the Honey Farm for refuge as well. These ladies quickly become soul sisters and embark on a plot for revenge on Lily’s philandering ex-husband.  This film is “one hell of a road trip” in the words of Emma, and will take the audience on a roller coaster ride! This film was written and directed by Diana Bigham.   It has a “Thelma and Louise” meets “War of The Roses” kind of feel.

Actor Marv Blauvelt and Sheri Davis

Other than this I have made it to the final round of auditions for an upcoming network TV show in a lead role, I am in negotiations on a film set in the 1800s, as well as a few other films.  If things go as planned I will be working on The Border as well which was also written by Spencer Gray and 2 other films written by Roger Sampson. Marv Blauvelt and I have discussed doing another film together as well. Some of the things I can’t even discuss yet so that is about all for now.  We will see how these things pan out.

 AGENDA FOR THE EVENING
Producer Mr. James Saito will join host Robert Poole to discuss Mr. Lewis' illustrious career and upcoming horror anthology "Herschel Gordon Lewis'BLOODMANIA". It is released from DIABOLIQUE FILMS & HGBEntertainment.

WHY INDIEHORROR.TV?

IHTV came about as a labor of love towards horror movies and specifically towards those who create Independent Horror Films.

There is a certain amount of awe inspired by the concept of someone committing everything they have to their passion. Many small time filmmakers sacrifice their financial well being taking their personal savings and investing it into their film. They take risks with their careers by taking time off to complete their project. They spend countless hours filming, editing, promoting their films. And in horror in general, outside of a few film festivals and a convention here or there, the movies fade into the background never truly reaching the audiences they deserve.   Diabolique News: Mark This Date Down! Other topics will include the release of his sensational new horror anthology "Herschel Gordon Lewis' BLOODMANIA" coming in 2015. It will be released from DIABOLIQUE FILMS (A division of Diabolique Magazine) & HGB Entertainment. Full Details Here: www.indiehorror.tv

No more of that. What IHTV wants to do is to air your movies. We want to promote them on our website, our facebook and our twitter pages. We want to air their trailers even on nights they're not playing and redirect people to your site to possibly purchase your DVDs, Blu Rays or other Merchandise. Visit indie horror tv here

All we ask is the non-exclusive rights to play your movie as often as we can (or as often as you're willing to allow us to air them). You provide us with two video files: a trailer (if you have one) that shows your website address and the film itself. We will then schedule and air your movie(s) on a month by month schedule.

That's it. No costs to you. We're not doing this for money. We're not going to sell your films or anything of that sort. We just want material to air. In return, hopefully, we can get the word out about your film. Like I said, this is a labor of love and the least we can do. This site exists to salute you, the Indie Horror Filmmaker. We applaud your effort and passion and we want everyone to know of your work. In some small way, our hope is that with us cheering you along, you'll be able to find wider distribution and of course graduate from our channel to retail outlets everywhere.

We also offer a Director Chats night where if you have a webcam, we can set up an airing where immediately after your movie airs we bring you into the stream for a live video chat with the viewers in our chat room. This gives a direct interaction between you and an audience. Similar to what you might find at a Film Festival. This of course, is purely voluntary. An optional way to help promote your movie and be shown on a featured night. All that is required is a webcam and some time for us. :)

Contact us about showing your film today!

The Process
A quick Q&A about how to participate
Q: How do I participate or get films to you?
A: This is easy enough - send us your films digitally using Dropbox, Google Drive or Wetransfer (if 2gb or less). Send the share or invite to: info@indiehorror.tv. Don't have Dropbox? Give us an email and we'll create a temporary shared folder where you can upload your movie. If you do not have the ability to make a digital copy, send us an email and we'll give you an address to send a disc to.

Q: What file format do you prefer?
A: MP4, h.264 format, 720p at least for quality. We run on a Windows based system so MOV files actually have caused issues for us and converting them perfectly has been hit or miss. Also please do not send Blu Rays as converting those to video files have also not been the smoothest experience.

Q: Will I be compensated for airing my work?
A: Unfortunately not at this time. The channel has no incoming revenue streams. We work for free to promote your work and are building an Independent Horror Community that might be more interested in helping you fund or promote your next project. Also all Director's Chats are recorded and put on YouTube. Feel free to share far and wide. You can use this in your promotional materials on your site! When/if we change our model to start accepting advertising revenue, we may at that time institute a profit sharing plan with filmmakers of some sort. That however is not possible for the time being.

Q: Will you do reviews for our film?
A: We are often asked if we will review a film, specifically to be quoted on the films or press materials. That's not really what we do. We approach every film with neutrality. Why? Because we don't want our site to advocate for certain films or against certain films in a way that promotes favortism. Remember, there are TONS of films and filmmakers out there and our audience is a very diverse Horror audience. So if I, the owner of IndieHorror.TV, don't like, say... found footage movies and don't give the most glowing review to one of those films, I don't want to offend a filmmaker and prevent them from airing their work on our channel because there could be a lot of our audience that enjoys the film. Our audience is what counts and we air everything because you never know what people will or will not enjoy. Short answer: No, we do not/will not do reviews officially from the channel.

Q: Why are you not on 24/7?
A: We would love to be able to do that but we'd need a LOT more content and a different backend system built out to handle slotting films in while the current ones are playing as well as listing the time slots we're dropping files into. I suspect a build out like that could cost $10k at least. So for right now we keep it to Fri-Sat-Sun evenings, with Fridays being our marquee nights. We have considered this as a major goal for the channel in the future.

Q: Can I air my film just one time only?
A: Yes! And we've had a number of one and done films that we have aired. I personally think though giving us more airs to work with works to your benefit. The audience seems to be different from one night to the next so while we'll have a very strong audience one Friday, the next Friday you could end up with a handful of people. That means putting your eggs into one basket showing-wise could prevent a sizeable audience from checking out your film. It's always your call but to maximize the impact of showing your film on the channel, you usually want to get it in front of a decent amount of audience members.

Q: How can I avoid piracy with your channel?
A: This is important to filmmakers and with the number of media screeners ending up on torrent sites, we understand why. Here are the precautions we have in place that might help.

    1. We never store your film online. All streams are done from a local PC, NOT from an online server that can be easily hacked.
    2. We watermark the file. You'll know if it was ripped off of IHTV because either our watermark will exist in the top right corner or the pirater will have blurred that out. Also we usually run tickers on the bottom.
    3. We run most streams at 720p which is good quality but not exactly 1080p Blu Ray or best DVD quality.
    4. We don't upload to a storage site like YouTube. This means the only way to steal the film is to run a region ripper like Snagit. Those look terrible and will likely shrink the quality down even further.

To this date we have NEVER had a film pirated off of our channel. Here's hoping that continues.

Q: Where do my fans chat for the Director's Chats?
A:  There is a chat room on the right side of our player. That chat room is run by Justin.TV. Our stream airs on the Justin.TV/Twitch.TV servers so they run the chat room. Once you sign up, chatting is a breeze.

Q: Who controls the ads that play before IHTV loads?
A: Again, Justin.TV. We don't get a penny for those ads. We encourage everyone to use Adblocker Plus or Better Justin.TV to block those ads. We hate them just as much as you.

Q: Can I come in the chat even if I don't have a Director's Chat that night?
A: Everyone is ALWAYS welcome to chat with us! We're trying to build a community of like-minded fans AND filmmakers. I personally think filmmakers hanging with the fans and watching movies helps build their brand up when it comes time for their next film.

Q: I don't have Skype, can I do a Director's Chat?
A: At the moment, Skype is our only recordable option. It stinks but it works. If you are worried about the technical part of signing in and such, we can help walk you through it. If a camera is an issue, there might be ways to hook your regular video cam up to your PC via a USB cable and use that. There are always options, so let's figure it out.

Q: Can we do a pre-recorded chat?
A: We don't do the chats as interviews so much as fun, casual Q&As with our audiences. We've turned down some pretty well known horror names because we want the chats to stay interactive. It's the entire draw of the event. You interacting with fans about your work. It's so casual and pure and better than convention Q&As or straight media interviews. We believe it's one of our trademark features. So at this time, we're declining pre-recording in favor of a much more vibrant, energetic chat that can help showcase you the person in addition to you the Director or you the Actor.

OUR WISHLIST: OTHER TYPES OF PROGRAMS WE ARE LOOKING FOR

For those of you who are creative and want to help out, we have a couple of different things we're looking for (call it a "wish list") aside from films and shorts. CONVENTION REPORTER says Horror Conventions are the life blood of the Industry. I want to promote these events as a major part of the horror lifestyle and I know some of you attend a bunch of these things. Filming the cons (at least the ones that will let you) isn't hard... I want people to see the vendors and the kinds of things they offer. I want interviews with con-goers, some of the higher profile guests (if they are willing to chat for a few minutes), Con Organizers and pretty much anyone willing to talk. Give us the FEELING of these conventions. These don't have to be 2 hour documentaries. Hell they could be 10-15 minutes long but I have a serious feeling that a lot of Convention organizers would jump at the chance to allow us to film things at their con since it will help promote them in the future. Again, I need you to help with this.A

    FICTIONALIZED HORROR TV SERIES
This one I want to be scripted, fictional with a season and episodes and such. I am sure there are people out there contemplating doing a series for YouTube or someone who has already done this but it would be cool to have our own episodic programming in addition to films.

    INSIDER SERIES 1: SPECIAL EFFECTS
One of the cooler aspects of running a channel promoting Independent Horror is that I'd like to give people a jump start and maybe help inspire future filmmakers. It works not just to get more movies made in general but of course we're hoping that inspiration creates a cycle where we always have material to air. That being said having a 30 minute series with makeup effects as well as any other types of practical or CG effect how-to would be invaluable to people just starting out. Not to mention very informative and fun.

INSIDER SERIES 2: HOW TO MAKE AN INDEPENDENT FILM
This series is more about the nuts and bolts of the process. I'd like each episode broken down by a theme. One can be about script writing and storyboards. One can be about the process of raising money. One can be about location scouting. One can be about casting. One can be about principal shooting. One can be about post-production. One can be about movie promotion. I mean seriously there are a ton of aspects left out here that could warrant their own episodes and each season could feature a new movie and the process behind it. I'd love to follow one filmmaker, especially if he has success with the first film, for two seasons. The differences in the second production and how receptive financiers and distributors are as well as different actors that want to be a part of the next project. It would be completely eye opening. I straight up love this idea. We need to do it.

    AN ANIMATED SERIES
Okay so we're getting greedy here but I would love nothing more than to have an animated horror series of our very own to air. I know animated television is a complicated process but hey, this is a wish list, right?

INTRUSION Official Movie Trailer

INTRUSION
Plot:Holly Jensen leads an overly dramatic life. It’s one that is spent trying to avoid her problems and forget the past. Best friend Kali has the perfect solution to making Holly feel better. It’s a game called “Wrong Number.” However, the man on the other end finds the joke less than funny and decides to play a game of his own. A game where Holly will become the pawn. It’s a character-driven thriller where everything has consequences and something as beautiful as a rose can be turned into any woman’s, worst nightmare. Written by Craig Everett Earl and Directed by Dru Pfeiffer. Intrusion stars Katie Stewart, Lee Haycraft and Teresa Lawrence II.

Look for both films to be available on Blu-Ray, DVD, Cable TV and Video On Demand platforms including Amazon Prime, Google Play, iTunes Movies, M-GO and more! SGL Entertainment is headed up by Jeffrey A. Swanson and Damien Dante with partnerships that include MVD Entertainment and Indie Rights Movies.

Award winning writer/ producer Craig Everett Earl and actress Tiffany Shepis gives the thumbs up! We've really been pouring blood, sweat and tears into this film and the quality is definitely first rate! Intrusion: Disconnected has over 20 great murder sequences, it also features 18 locations and over 50 scenes, and 73 lighting set-ups... it's a lot of hard work! We're hoping to secure the rest of the funds not only because it will let us wrap the remaining shoot this year, but also due to the fact Corey Feldman wants to come on board for four scenes in the film! Full detailshere
We not only have a lot of beautiful ladies in the film, but they're also really amazingactors. We have a cast of over fifty, so I can honestly say it's one the few horror films I've seen in a long time with that many good performances in one film. Usually you only get that in something that's a straight drama. Definitely lots of death and blood, but we have the character-driven story to drive it as well.

\M/ THE MICHIGAN METAL ASSOCIATION
Leather, blood, fangs, cryptic howls, endurance, and a passion for Metal is what makes Quinn Kelly the new upcoming"Lord of Darkness" in Metal music promotion. While spanning the southern states from Florida to California, Quinn Kelly has promoted and supported bands for 12 years of his life. Now, after returning home to Michigan, and seeing the suffering of the metal scene in his home state, Quinn decided to take action and on April 18th, 2013,"The Michigan Metal Association" was born into creation to bring a new breed of music promotion, and support to the local bands here. Quinn has come up with new ways to offer the bands new opportunities to earn funds and is putting on new venue shows and festivals every minute he can. Quinn has also started his Black Metal project, Iejir in which his wicked screams and blood curling howls make for some brutal vocals. Since its creation last year, The Michigan Metal Association has come to expand and grow into The Michigan Metal Studios, which offers quality recordings for half the cost of other studios for bands that want quality recording, but do not have a lot of money to spend on them.

The Michigan Metal Magazine was also created to provide reviews, information on up and coming bands and cds, TMMA show information and promotion of bands and sponsors. Worried about video or photos of your big event? Then you will be pleased to know that Quinn has teamed up with his mother, Risha Kelly to create R.K. Kelly Photography. R.K. Kelly Photography offers bands affordable videos and photographs of their event with a great atmosphere and a hard working, friendly staff at her side... Risha is able to capture all of metals finest moments!  Quinn and Iejir are also working with Tressa Graves, a well renowned horror novelist who expressed interest in having Iejir compose a song for her story, The Lady in the Backyard. Read complete articlehere

The song is now in it's final writing stages and sounds amazing. Also in the works is the special guest appearanceby Tressa Graves for her book signing tour for her novelThe Sawgrass Foot Path at Uli's Haus of Rock in Lansing, MI on November1st, 2014. Quinn has also started working on a  Michigan Metal Tour, set to begin this fall, and the second annual TMMA Music Festival set to begin this spring. With all of these promising ventures and opportunities, The Michigan Metal Association has no where to go but up, and the skies are the limits for this up and coming company. Many efforts are made daily by Quinn and his staff to make sure that the promotion and support for our local bands is top notch.

Diabolique News:"Soulmate is a bold and resonant UK genre piece and one that makes a strong opening statement in what will hopefully be the start of many more things to come as Axelle Carolyn's career as a director develops. Bold because this is a film that does not follow the herd, and for a first picture this is a courageous move for the director"- Kat Ellinger

“The films that stay with you are the films that manage to get under your skin and into your head”says producer Neil MarshallWe’re halfway between horror and drama, mainstream and art house and while to me that’s what makes the movie unique and unexpected, it also disappoints some people who come in with specific expectations.”
For an indie filmmaker making her Welsh ghost story debut feature, writer-director Axelle Carolyn is bold and steadfast in her creative vision. It takes place in a disquieting small village which includes a haunted cottage that succesfully merges horror with the investigative ghost elements of the thriller and detective genres! To know anything about Axelle Carolyn’s background, is to go into SOULMATE with very high hopes. Not only is she married to the man that was once touted as Britain’s ‘shining light’ for horror film-making, Neil Marshall, but Carolyn is very much a horror personality in her own right. Having written for some of the leading genre publications such as Fangoria, SFX and The DarkSide and published her own expansive and very informative book on horror in the 21st century (It Lives Again: Horror Movies In The New Millennium). Carolyn also moved into film-making a few years ago and has 3 shorts to her name that have all been very well received on the horror film festival circuit. SOULMATE is the début feature film from Carolyn which she wrote and directed, with Marshall producing. It's certainly a very promising start and from what we have seen so far, it's clearly evident that she excels in creating remarkable framing, sense of timing and atmosphere.- Chelsey Burdon

After a failed suicide attempt, Audrey (Anna Walton), a young widow, retreats to a remote cottage. She soon discovers that the place is haunted by its previous owner, but decides to stay, hoping somehow to find comfort in the ghost.

Recently widowed Audrey (Anna Walton), takes it upon herself to retreat to an isolated Welsh cottage after a failed suicide attempt, to rest, recuperate, and hopefully heal. Haunted by the tragic death of her husband and struggling to cope with her own psychosis, its not long before she begins to hear strange noises in the cottage, suspecting first of all an intruder and then the hallucinogenic side effects of her medication. Eventually, this ‘presence’ reveals itself to be the ghost of previous owner Douglas Talbot (the surname being an unusual choice of reference for horror fans) who shares the same grief and heartache as Audrey. It is here that the narrative deviates somewhat from more common ghost stories as rather than remain a haunting presence, Douglas becomes a companion to Audrey, providing solace and, effectively therapy. It’s a haunted house movie that pays tribute to some of the more classical entries in the sub-genre but also has a refreshing romantic spin and intelligently deals with loneliness, grief and tragedy.

Anna Walton (Audrey) hears a strange noise and walks up the stairs to investigate one of the rooms in her haunted cottage. US customers order here

Visually, SOULMATE (2013) is a very impressive piece; Carolyn really maximises the potential of the stunning Breacon Beacons and the beautifully designed cottage which serves as a focal point within the film. It looks and feels much more like a classic ghost story than it actually is, and it is impossible to deny that Carolyn is well-versed in the iconography and aesthetic tone of the sub-genre.     Cinematography is certainly the strength of SOULMATE (2013), Carolyn proves she has an artistic eye and often goes for the less obvious camera angles to make better use of the space and help to build atmosphere. Anna Walton does a fantastic job in the lead role and certainly has all the striking qualities needed to carry a film of this nature. Theresa Zelleby, the cottage’s caretaker and local village gossip is brilliantly played by Tanya Myers and Tom Wisdom’s ghostly Talbot is genuinely chilling. US customers order here

From a narrative standpoint, the film has a very strong first act, opening on Audrey’s grisly suicide attempt and then creating that chilling, gothic tone in the remote Welsh highlands. Everything is set up perfectly for a thoughtful, reflective ghost story; a fragile and haunted soul alone in an old, aching cottage that reeks of a mysterious history.

With SOULMATE (2013), Axelle Carolyn has definitely proven that she has a flair for directing! She has succeeded in creating a moody, well-paced supernatural thriller that has strong visual character with some bold camera direction. The fact can’t be ignored that the genre desperately needs more female artists and fans can be certain that Axelle Carolyn is a talent to keep a keen eye on in the future.

SOULMATE(2014)
Review: Audrey (Anna Walton) is a recent, young widow who is plagued by the premature death of her husband. She attempts suicide to escape her pain, but her failure leads her to an even deeper depression. She escapes to a remote cottage in the Wales countryside to be in solitude and to work on her music once again. Audrey soon hears noises coming from a locked room in the cottage, only to eventually learn that it is haunted by the previous owner, Douglas Talbot (Tom Wisdom). Axelle creates suspense, both with the accompanying music score and with the camera. However, the jump-in-your-seat shocks happen when you least expect them! I admit, I flinched several times and on one occasion, actually let out a quick scream, much to my embarrassment. Instead of running away from her ghostly house mate, Audrey befriends him, much to his amazement. Their friendship develops beautifully; each one helping the other cope with the torments of their past. There is a love for one another, one much deeper than the other, though.

Anna is superb as Audrey; you feel her pain along with her, often with a knot in your stomach as she tries to make it through each day. As her tension relaxes with her new supernatural friend, you experience the warm, fuzzy feelings during their unique moments of camaraderie. Simple gestures, such as playing chess together (as Douglas struggles to move the pieces to the desired space with his energy), leaves you with a sweet smile. And when Audrey feels terror, you feel it with her.

This film is unlike any you have seen Tom Wisdom in before; his true acting colors shine through in his portrayal of Douglas. Tormented from his past, he has struggled for thirty years in loneliness as no one has ever been able to see or hear him until Audrey came along. As Audrey asks him personal questions, his silent stares make you uncomfortable, which is precisely what he was aiming for. From his sweet, gentle demeanor to his explosive anger, Tom flexes his acting chops in the film. You adore him and are completely terrified of him all in two hours. His deathly makeup only adds to the character, making him completely believable as a long-dead man. I always enjoy twists at the end of films that I didn't see coming, which Axelle delivers perfectly. An ending that one doesn't anticipate in the least, I actually heard some quiet gasps in the audience around me (myself included). The film was dark, Gothic, hauntingly romantic, and in a word, fantastic. - Melissa Zaroski

HorrorUnlimited.com - A VERY INSPIRATION MESSAGE FROM THE HORROR NERD THAT YOU HAVE TO READ!He says... "Once in a while, I will have someone tell me, in person or here on FB, that I am "So lucky to be able to do the things that I do", such as go to film events, be in movies, host my own events, etc. While I do consider myself very fortunate to have met some very talented people, who have shared their creativity with me, I don't feel "luck" had anything to do with it. I had an interest in something, and I pursued it. I encourage everyone who is thinking about doing something, to just get out and try it, otherwise, you will sit and think about it forever.

Want to be in a movie? Answer an open casting call. Want to meet some celebrities? Go to a fan convention. Like horror movies? Go to an indie film screening and support the scene! Oh, and don't give me the "I'm too busy" excuse. We are ALL busy. I have a full-time "day job" and a daughter to help take care of. If something is important to you, you will find the time to do it. I never thought I would be doing the things that I am working on, yet I am. Since I got involved in all of these projects and events, I have never been happier! All you have to do is find something you're passionate about, and go chase it. Have a great day everyone! Todd Staruch aka The HORROR NERD

Quote from Meghan Chadeayne ...
"They say making films is a job, but when you have professionals that also become super good friends, it sure doesn't make it feel like any job I've ever had. The cast and crew of LAMB FEED took my heart and ran away with it. Never have I experienced such awesome, down to earth, talented individuals in one room. They even had the biggest hearts to come see my "Naked Zombie Girl" premier in Bakersfield, CA! We're just now starting the Festival circuit, but I know this film will be a hit, with the people involved, there's no doubt in my mind. Here's the madness behind it all, Michael S. Rodriguez, and I doing some wild audio for my character Lana."

Diabolique News Break! Cult Horror Legend Lynn Lowry Nominated by FANtastic Horror Film Festival (October 31 - November 2, 2014) For "Best Actress" In Director Michael S. Rodriguez's Sensational NIGHT OF THE SEA MONKEY: A DISTURBING TALE.  Did You Know... that Lynn's  unusual beauty and hippy chick style helped to create a certain unease. Lynn Lowry also performed with a band playing show tunes, jazz and folk music. BUY TICKETS here

It's a multiplex theater located in the Gaslamp Quarter of downtown San Diego that will screen the best indie horror movies!. The building was designed by the firm of Benson & Bohl. “A multiplex with style that screens blockbusters, indies & classics."
As Frank Sinatra would say: 73,000 square feet including 15 theaters, with “wall-to-wall” screens up to 30 by 46 feet large, plus raked “stadium” seating, plush red seats, lights shaped like Academy Awards, digital sound and a lobby fit for a train depot — or a “popcorn. Cozy movie multiplex that has style! It is the grande dame of the Gaslamp’s matriarchy of Victorian buildings: Its art deco, Puttin' on the Ritz exterior is spectacular. In the lobby, the same kind of top-hatted poshness is achieved via lavishly patterned, thick carpets, "Gone With The Wind” staircases (inside it’s a two-story affair), and concession people dressed just like genuine riverboat gamblers whose fortunes have taken a bizarre turn. 'Faces Of Fire' Prejudice Against Deformity And Fear Of It By Horror Writer Terry Sherwood

FACES OF FIREArticle by Terry Sherwood

The altering of the human form has been an omnipresent theme of Horror pictures. Whether that is being tossed into something or off something, made into something, or having something removed, the result is a change that does not make us or those that love us the same.  The face is a key to human identity, a door to human love so if that changes, sometimes we change.
(left)[Original Theatrical Teaser Poster]FACE OF FIRE (1959), directed by Albert Band is not really a Horror film, more a narrative of our prejudice against deformity and the fear of it.  It was based on a story by American Stephen Crane called "The Monster." Crane was considered to be one of the most influential writers of his generation who wrote in the naturalist mode. Crane’s other major work that is more familiar is the Civil War story THE RED BADGE OF  COURAGE  (1895), which he wrote without having battlefield experience yet went on to become an American classic. Crane’s hallmark was to show small town life as neither good nor evil. The story of FACE OF FIRE is a simple one, yet again like the best films, the story is about those affected by events not an actual creature. The setting is  a small town in late 1800s America where a lowly handyman Monk Johnson (played by James Whitmore) whom women want to be with, children want to befriend, animals love him.

Original 8 piece 11 x 14 US Lobby card Set

Cameron Mitchell is the town doctor Ned Trescott, whom Monk works for, and also takes his son Jimmie (Miko Oscard) he takes of fishing trips. All is pastoral till one night a fire erupts at Trescott’s residence and Monk charges into the burning building to save a sleeping Jimmie. Overcome by smoke from chemicals, Monk collapses. The boy escapes through a nearby door. Monk is pulled from the building with severe burns removing his facial features, and what is later revealed as brain damage.

The townspeople that once revered him now shun him. He sits in his room slumped over, face covered by a black cloth. The farmer whose house he has moved into asks for more money.  The farmer’s children do not eat, his wife refuses to go in the room and social isolation takes place as friend refuse to call. The farmer, however, does find time to try on Monk’s disused jacket and boots that he covets and eventually gets.
Direction wise the photography is very stark in black and white with effective use of foreground and background action plus light and shadows. The people move throughout the film in an almost sleep like trance along the streets.
No, this is at heart a drama, and a painful and devastating one at that. It takes a long, hard look at how people would react to a man suffering such extreme deformities, and often their reactions are just as ugly as his visage. It is quite harrowing to see their reactions, especially when they think Monk is dead and begin hypocritically praising him for his bravery. What makes it most painful is its air of truth; it is quite easy to see people acting this way when you know that they (and we) are capable of it when we let fear take control of us. James Whitmore and Cameron Mitchell are both excellent as the deformed handyman and the doctor (whose son it was that was rescued from the fire) who cares for him, even when he himself becomes a pariah and has to watch his son cope with the situation.
There are strong influences of FRANKENSTEIN (1931) and BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1935) as Monk is well enough to be outside, sheds his hood and tries to join in a dance with the townspeople but is shunned. He approaches the woman who once tried to get him interested in her - she runs screaming from him now. We only see his back in the sequence as again its effect on the people that is important. The one constant is a collie dog who will still give him a stick which is a repeat from earlier in the film showing that animals love unconditionally, unlike humans. There is a plot of kill Monk by the townspeople as he is not human which is stopped when the Sherriff intervenes. Monks is offered a free house away from the town by one person all in an effort to keep him away.
Character actor Royal Dano as townsman Jake Winter battles his own feelings as opposed to hisfamilies. A young Lois Maxwell (Her pre Miss Moneypenny days) as Trescott’s incipient appearance loving wife are standouts
I remember FACE OF FIRE on television years ago and the one sequence that stuck with me is when Trescott’s son brings Monk his breakfast.  Monk slowly turns and his face is seen in profile causing the boy to run. PHANTOM did not do well at the box office and actually caused Terence Fisher to fall out of favor as a director. Shades of FRANKENSTEIN both the book at the 1931 James Whale version and later David Lynch’s THE ELEPHANT MAN (1980) as all films are in black and white and deal with an ‘outsider’ by appearance.  It is interesting to note both these pictures were done by non- horror genre directors. FACE OF FIRE was done by Albert Band who did also produced I BURY THE LIVING (1980) and the cult classic TROLL (1986) amongst other titles,  including HONEY I BLEW UP THE KIDS (1992), as Executive Producer.
FACE OF FIRE (1959) is often neglected but  very much worth a look for  the  effect of a simple change upon not only the person but the people around them. Article by Terry Sherwood

Phantom City Creative Artwork Revealed for Edgar Allan Poe Halloween “Nevermore” Performance at the Somerville Theatre in Boston

BOSTON (October 18, 2014) - On October 31st, fans of the darker literary persuasion will find a very special treat at the Somerville Theatre. At 8pm, the house lights will go down, and Edgar Allan Poe will return. In “Nevermore: An Evening With Edgar Allan Poe,” Jeffrey Combs, known as Herbert West in Re-Animator, several Star Trek TV characters, and the eccentric FBI agent in The Frighteners, will fill Poe’s shoes, coat, and personage. Combs’ portrayal of the Boston-born author is so mesmerizing that attendees will forget that Poe has left us, and that it is, in fact, not 1848.

For the occasion of this rare night, “Nevermore” producer and Boston filmmaker Izzy Lee has commissioned the award-winning art studio Phantom City Creative to create a rendition of Combs as Boston’s favorite wayward son. The stark, romantic image combines the image of Poe along with representations of his well-known tales The Raven, The Black Cat, and The Tell-Tale Heart. This illustration will be hand-screened on high-quality art paper, will be limited to 100 prints, and will be signed by Combs himself. The 18” x 24” “Nevermore” prints will be for pre-sale for $50 (or $65 shipped) on www.nihilnoctem.com for pickup in the Somerville Theatre’s lobby on the evening of the Halloween show; any remaining prints will be for sale then as well.

Additionally, fans in the Boston area can have their art print signed in person at two different locations:
  •  Comicazi, at 407 Highland Ave, Somerville, MA on October 30th, 2014, from 12-1pm. Legendary artist Graham Humphreys will be signing posters from 12-2pm.
  • Scarlet Letter Press and Gallery, at 102 Wharf St., Salem MA, on the evening of October 29, 2014, time TBA. Graham Humphreys will also be signing posters.

"I was honored when was asked to create a poster for Nevermore," says illustrator Justin Erickson. "Right away, I knew I wanted to do an illustration of Jeffrey Combs as Edgar Allan Poe that touched on some of Poe's most well-known works, such as 'The Raven,''The Tell Tale Heart,' and 'The Black Cat."

“Nevermore” will be the second night of a two-night event; on Thursday, October 30th at 6pm, the Edgar Allan Poe Bronze Bust Project will be unveiling the results of the successful Kickstarter to create, you guessed it... a bronze bust of Poe, created by renowned sculptor Bryan Moore. The bust will be unveiled in America’s oldest public library, the Boston Public Library. The event is free, open to the public, and will be showcased in majestic Abbey Room of the palatial McKim Building. The Kicksarter was funded, in part by a $10,000 donation from filmmaker Guillermo del Toro (Pacific Rim, Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth, The Strain); authors Neil Gaiman (American Gods, Coraline, Sandman) and Peter Straub (Ghost Story, The Talisman, Shadowland); and other Poe advocates and fans. Attending will be Moore; Lee; Boston College English Professor and Poe expert Paul Lewis; and Jeffrey Combs, the talented character actor who plays Poe in “Nevermore.”

Poe... the author of the widely acclaimed stories The Raven, The Tell-Tale Heart, and The Black Cat - pioneered macabre mystery narratives and provoked heated debates among his contemporaries, he earned little money, mixed reviews, and especially cold Boston receptions in his lifetime, but found widespread acclaim posthumously as generations of fans recognized his genius.

As the “Nevermore” October 31st show date approaches, Moore and Lee are optimistic because they feel the tide is finally turning in Poe’s favor in Boston, but also because the greater fan community... across North America and even Europe, has already shown support for giving Poe a prominent memorial in a prestigious hall near his birthplace. For more information on Nevermore and the Edgar Allan Poe Bronze Bust Project, visit: https://www.facebook.com/EdgarAllanPoeBronzeBustProject

About “Nevermore: An Evening With Edgar Allan Poe”
Written by Denis Paoli, known as author of the Re-Animator screenplay and the Masters of Horror episode The Black Cat, also starring Combs as Poe, the special Halloween night rendition of “Nevermore” will be its first and only New England performance. Previously directed by Stuart Gordon (Re-Animator, From Beyond, Dagon, Stuck) in cities including Los Angeles, Montreal, Austin, and New York, Boston’s performance is being produced by Lee for the historic Somerville Theater in Davis Square on October 31st at 8pm. The play is set in 1848—one year after the death of Poe’s wife and muse Virginia, and two years before his own death—and features Combs personifying him with 90 riveting minutes ranging from comedy to horror and tragedy.

"I just saw the new issue of Diabolique and seriously almost teared up. Blown away with the whole thing; layout, theme, and overall tone of it. One of the reasons that I love this magazine is the care and attention which they put into the presentation of the material. When you put days and weeks into an article, it's wonderful to know that it will be done justice on the printed page. Hats off to Max Weinstein, Dima Ballin and Greg Petaloudis for their outstanding work on issue #19. It's a beauty." - Colin McCraken zombiehamster.com
